Summary:What does this “gospel for atheists” really mean in our encounter with our atheistic fellow-men? What perspectives can be thereby opened up? Which ways of proceeding are thus marked for us to initiate an authentic encounter? In a preliminary way I want to answer these questions with the following proposition. The encounter of Christians with atheists will proceed correctly on the side of the church only when it is done in the spirit of the gospel and not in the spirit of the law.
