Description
Summary:Friedrich Schleiermacher’s dogmatic project The Christian Faith is shaped by a powerful doctrine of eternal divine creation. Furthermore, it is characterized not only by a sensibility for the historical nature of the theological task but also by an emphasis upon the Incarnation as the temporal fulfilment of God’s will. This article seeks to demonstrate how these three points about Schleiermacher’s system play out in his depiction of Eucharistic practice.
