Description
Summary:The True Wealth of Nations: Catholic Social Thought and Economic Life is a volume of essays that comes out of the Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies “True Wealth of Nations” project. The thirteen chapters in this book are mostly by economists and theologians, and the volume is edited by Daniel Finn, who happens to be both. It is clear that these essays reflect considerable discussion among the participants, as the authors do a good job of linking their ideas to other contributions in the book. The goal of the book is to go beyond past work in Catholic social thought (CST) and economics and suggest more concrete contributions CST can make to understanding economic life and the economy. In many ways the book accomplishes this goal successfully.
