Description
Summary:In a series of essays entitled Religion and the Culture Wars: Dispatches from the Front (1996), John Green and his colleagues introduced the scholarly community to “the essentials” necessary to understand how religion matters in American electoral politics. Now, more than a decade and a half later, Green's newest book, The Faith Factor, brings these same concepts to a wider audience. Although geared toward journalists and other interested lay observers, the present volume should be of interest to social scientists as well because it offers a detailed overview of the received wisdom from years of scholarship on the nexus between religious belief and political behavior. Even dedicated students of religion and politics are likely to find much to like about the present volume.
