Description
Summary:The review copy of this book arrived in my mailbox on a day when the Rev. Terry Jones was squeezing every possible drop of global publicity out of his threat to burn a Quran on the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks and as lawyers for the Westboro Community Baptist Church were preparing to defend before the U.S. Supreme Court their free speech rights to conduct antigay protests at the funerals of service members killed in the war in Iraq., I gazed at the book. “What if all the bad news you've been hearing about Christians isn't true?” blared the bold copy atop the back cover. I rolled my tired, middle-aged, scholarly eyes and braced myself. Then I began to read. What I found was not what the publisher's packaging had led me to expect.
