Summary: | Michael Ipgrave, editor of Building a Better Bridge: Muslims, Christians, and the Common Good, has provided the community of Christian faith, in this attractive and accessible text, a helpful and proactive resource to progressively move Muslim and Christian relations in our present context to higher ground., The book is the result of a conference held in Sarajevo by the Archbishop of Canterbury in 2005. One is immediately impressed by the diversity of the scholars who are participating in this project. They include Islamic, theological, and even legal professors and pastoral practitioners alike. Along with the context, the breadth of contributors—Muslim and Christian—give the book a sense of urgency and immediacy (if I may use that Buddhist phrase in this context). |
