It is the first French version published since 1675. The Greek text is Winkelmann's GCS of 1975. In nine places, listed on p. 143, the editor has departed from Winkelmann, invariably preferring the reading of the manuscripts to the alterations made by past editors. There is a full and rich introduction, in which historical and literary questions are handled with excellent competence. | ||
