Description
Summary:This treatment of The Death of Jesus from the retired Professor of New Testament at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich, challenges systematic theologians, and others, to take seriously ‘the diverse and often seemingly discordant statements of the Christian scriptures’, and to take more seriously the fact that ‘time and again we can see that traditional accounts of the rationale of this event introduce ideas and categories which are not only foreign to us, but in many cases repugnant’.
