Summary: | This book has an unusual form, in that it is a collection of material from a period of twenty years’ work. The essays are unrevised, but each is preceded by an introduction explaining its genesis and, where relevant, the author’s changed perspective on the topic in hand. Whatever may be the case in the UK, if it is indeed likely that most seminaries/theological colleges in North America will be associated with university divinity schools in the not too distant future, a book such as the one under review should have an honoured place on the reading list of those who will make some crucial decisions about curricula and content. |
