Description
Summary:Not very much is known of the twelfth-century French heretic Henry (sometimes wrongly called Henry of Lausanne), beyond the fact that he was condemned at a council in Pisa in 1135. The testimonies were collected in 1953 by R. Manselli, who edited an anonymous treatise Contra hereticos et schismaticos (CHS) from Paris MS lat. 3371 (P), while passing over another opuscule, found in Nice MS 3 (N), specifically entitled Contra Henricum scismaticum et hereticum (HSH). Monique Zerner now gives us both treatises, identifies the author of HSH, Guilelmus Monachi, as an archbishop of Arles (died 1141), and adds a new witness to CHS, Seville MS 7-7-6.
