| Summary: | Although not referred to here as source material, this book appears to be based on Charles Stang’s doctoral thesis of 2008, ‘No longer I: Dionysius the Areopagite, Paul and the Apophasis of the Self’, which is cited in his chapter ‘Dionysius, Paul and the Significance of the Pseudonym’ in S. Coakley and C. M. Stang (eds.), Re-thinking Dionysius the Areopagite (Chichester, 2009). One wonders whether those who have not been persuaded by his arguments so far are likely to be convinced by this present volume., Contrary to the opinion of most other scholars nowadays, Stang argues that the influence of Paul pervades the whole Dionysian corpus.
