Description
Summary:Naidu’s book is the published version of a doctoral dissertation submitted to the University of Aberdeen in 2005. He aims to contribute to an understanding of Chrysostom’s theology, which he argues is characterized by a close interplay between theology and praxis. Since Chrysostom’s Christology is pastoral and paraenetic in nature, Naidu examines it not solely from a dogmatic perspective, but in relation to his understanding of the Christian life. With this intent Naidu joins his voice to other recent ones recognizing the intimate relationship between doctrine and praxis in Chrysostom, over against earlier scholarly opinion that his thought was a-theological., The book has four chapters.
