There has also been a widespread return to the view that the original Priestly Work was a separate document and not a massive supplement to the older sections of the Pentateuch: only Erhard Blum takes the latter view in this volume. Even so the Priestly sections themselves have recently been the subject of a number of questions about their unity, date, and place in the composition of the Pentateuch. This volume of essays, which derives from a symposium held in 2007, provides a valuable introduction to these issues. | ||
