Zusammenfassung:The reception history of the Decalogue has been a popular subject in recent years—in 2012 it was again the focus of a conference, held in Oxford—and understandably so. There is a wealth of material for study, particularly from the Christian tradition, as Brevard Childs showed in his Exodus commentary (1974, pp. 428–39: see also S. M. Langston, Exodus through the Centuries [Oxford, 2006], pp. 186–221). In Judaism the Decalogue has had a less dominant place, at least since the rise of Christianity, and so attention has to be limited mainly to the (of course very extensive) exegetical literature. The effects can be seen in this volume of essays.
