Description
Summary:Although Prof. García Martínez is best known for his research on Qumran, he also has wide-ranging interests in biblical and Jewish studies, Septuagint, and textual criticism. The contributions to this Festschrift reflect this diversity in his own work, and several are important articles in their own right., Three contributions arise from a research project on the Song of Songs. Jean-Marie Auwers examines whether the prologue of Canticles is monologue or dialogue, Hans Ausloos disputes whether the book was ever read as allegory before it was canonized (against the view of John Barton and Edmée Kingsmill).
