Summary:In the published form of her University of Auckland doctoral thesis, Rosaline Bradbury seeks to offer a more fixed definition of theologia crucis than has heretofore been available, and thereby to demonstrate that Karl Barth is indisputably a ‘theologian of the cross’. These two points provide the structure of two major sections—one on the history of the topic, one on Barth—each of which examines the theology of the cross as both (1) an epistemological method, and (2) a soteriological principle.
