Summary: | Those familiar with feminist theology as it has developed over the last half-century will find no surprises in the first two chapters of this book, which are concerned with feminist critiques of Christian tradition and especially of its Christology, at least so far as the ‘Western’ world is concerned. Despite distinctive cultural and ecclesiastical origins, insofar as such critiques have been generated, repeated, and developed in the contexts of most often USA Divinity Schools, they tend to have a common character drawing on much the same authors. And if one is attempting to develop a ‘corrected’ Christology and soteriology as in the case of this book, there seems to be little point in attending (yet again) to e.g. |
