Description
Summary:Almost 30 years after James Dunn first coined the phrase ‘New Perspective on Paul’, it is increasingly recognized that this newness was framed within older theological traditions of scholarship. This newness pales in comparison with the growing diversity of sociological, economic, ethnic, and feminist perspectives. Since 2004, SBL meetings on ‘Newer Perspectives on Paul’ have charted this greater diversity, and the fruit of this research is now available in this excellent volume. The title signals Paul’s release from older theological scholarly frameworks as eight specialists review scholarship on Paul from their own perspectives.
