Описание
Итог:The study of the semantics of ancient Hebrew has become something of a growth industry. Against idiosyncratic notions at the time he was writing, James Barr brought the field firmly into the scholarly discipline where it belongs, namely linguistics. As it has matured since, more than one underlying theoretical approach has been favoured, and in this revised version of his Florence dissertation (2006) it is not surprising that Zanella adopts the method pioneered there, generally known as the componential analysis of meaning., This method proceeds in four stages, as Zanella explains carefully in his introductory chapter. First, each lexeme is subjected to a distributional and syntagmatic analysis, and in terms of pages this is by far the most substantial part of the work.
