Summary: | Richard Bauckham, emeritus Professor at St Andrews University, is a wide-ranging scholar of the New Testament and its world, and, like many such, his published articles are to be found in scattered journals and edited volumes. Many will therefore welcome this collection of 23 pieces whose original publication dates stretch from 1976 to 2008; the articles are presented in order of publication but this is not a stimulus to trace the development of an idea or approach, particularly since Bauckham states that there are few questions on which he has changed his mind. The title serves as a broad umbrella and it would be difficult even to group the articles loosely by topic; indeed there is remarkably little overlap between them. |
