Summary: | This is a short but unusual book, an attempt by a philosopher of religion (who has, however, many wider religious interests) to engage philosophically with the arguments of someone who is not normally thought of as an epistemologist or a logician. Based on lectures delivered before a Methodist audience in Singapore, it begins with a discussion of Wesley’s Aldersgate experience and proceeds to detect and analyse three arguments which he used in defence of certainty in religious belief. |
