Summary: | In this book Paul D. Molnar maps Torrance’s thoughts in the history of dogma—crucially, in relation to the trinitarian doctrine of being, arguing that, ‘For T. F. Torrance, the doctrine of the Trinity is the central doctrine around which all other Christian doctrines gravitate and become comprehensible’ (p. 31). In content, form, and their unity, Molnar orchestrates the argument as a thematic symphony of the magisterial creeds of the Church. The marvellous architecture of the rational coinherence of form and content helps demonstrate Torrance’s orientation to the sheer precedence of God’s being and action., The point on Torrance’s orientation is crucial in Molnar’s biographical sketch in chapter 1. |
