Description
Summary:Anselm’s Proslogion is arguably one of the most important works of medieval theology and one which continues to be of abiding significance today. That one exists than which a greater cannot be thought has proved to be an ontological argument for God’s existence that philosophers, theologians, and apologists cannot ignore. Ian Logan’s work on Anselm’s argument in the Proslogion is impressive and clearly serves to advance Anselmian scholarship. Logan not only provides a Latin text and English translation but a commentary on the text, an analysis of Anselm’s argument, and a historical survey of the reception of Anselm’s Proslogion since the Middle Ages.
