In this case we have a better reason: Barnard’s book was a good one and so is this, and a comparison of the two shows that it is possible to weave two well-fitting garments from the same cloth. As we quickly learn from the introduction, little is known of the life or milieu of this author, and the chief subject of any study will be the relation between the system that he preaches in the name of the Church and the teachings of philosophers in his own day. |
