Description
Summary:Why write another book on Luther? Isn’t he second only to Jesus in the global volume of secondary literature? Any author venturing such a task today must achieve a delicate balance between relevance and originality. Novelty in such a well-ploughed field of scholarship would most likely indicate either stultifying obscurity or simple error. Likewise, a genuinely useful analysis of Luther’s theology runs the risk of simply repeating the work of talented scholars of the past. Robert Kolb avoids these traps, and instead presents a compact, useful aid and refresher for students and specialists.
