Description
Summary:This is the second and final volume of Aramaic texts from Qumran originally assigned to Jean Starcky. First as a collaborator and latterly as the successor to Starcky, Prof. Émile Puech published an earlier volume of Aramaic texts from Qumran in 2001 (cf. É. Puech, Qumrân Grotte 4. XXII: Textes araméens, première partie: 4Q529–549 [DJD 31] [Oxford: Clarendon Press, 2001]). Further Aramaic texts have appeared in other DJD volumes on the basis of their genre. After a Foreword by the series editor-in-chief Emanuel Tov and a preface by Puech the volume is divided into nine sections (A–I), followed by a series of appendices which include a number of misplaced fragments found on Pl. XXVI as well as concordances (prepared by Martin Abegg) and 26 plates.
