Summary: | In this in-depth study Walsh shows a carefully plotted intersection between contemporary Christian theology and Kierkegaard's own distinct existential framework, highlighting the relevance of one to the other. As a careful and well-published Kierkegaard scholar, she takes a balanced approach that relies little on the well-trodden personal quirks in which Kierkegaard scholars often get caught up: his melancholic personal life, his cryptic use of pseudonyms, the Corsair affair. Instead, what Walsh is interested in is simply the most basic contributions that Kierkegaardian existentialism can make to Christian thought in a contemporary world. |
