Description
Summary:The prominence of a number of later medieval thinkers has been enhanced (and their respective claims to importance made easier to judge) by the publication of their Opera Omnia in modern editions. Francis of Marchia, a Franciscan who lectured on the Sentences in Paris from 1319 to 1320, has gained a modest reputation as the proponent of advanced opinions on some ‘scientific’ themes. He is now to have his own series, beginning with the Commentary on the Sentences, of which this is the first volume to be published. The series is to extend eventually to the complete Opera Philosophica et Theologica., The editors have taken the opportunity to provide at the beginning of this volume items which will be needed as the series progresses.
