Description
Summary:This work is an interesting collection of essays and articles, and some of the most significant scholars of early church history are represented within. Not surprisingly, since the aim of the volume is to offer a feminist interpretation of St Augustine, prominent analysts of the place of women and the feminine in patristic thought feature, including Rosemary Radford Ruether, Virginia Burrus, and Margaret Miles. As with any edited collection of essays, the focus of the work shifts depending on the authors and their preoccupations.
