Description
Summary:It takes a second reading of the title to understand the thesis of this book. Much has been written about the ‘Certainty of a Hearing’, but Villanueva draws our attention to the reverse scenario: the movement from praise to lament, or the return to lament after praise and thanksgiving has been offered., This was originally a Ph.D. thesis, submitted to the University of Bristol in 2007. The book preserves the clarity of argument and thoroughness of investigation of the doctoral dissertation: the reader is never in any doubt as to what Villanueva is intending to achieve and why. From the Alliance Graduate School in Manila, the teacher-cum-researcher is evident on every page., The first chapter is a useful overview of the history of the problem.
