Description
Summary:The appointment of Pancratius Beentjes as full professor of Old Testament and Hebrew was a fortunate one for those devoted to study of the Chronicler. His main research interests before that were in the book of Ben Sira, and he is best known for his publication of the Hebrew Ben Sira manuscripts found at Masada and Qumran and in the Cairo Genizah. He tells us that it was the research programme of the Faculty which led him to switch to the study of Chronicles, and this very useful collection of papers (most of which have been published earlier) in one volume is a fruitful result of his work in that area for the last fifteen years.
