Summary: | This Festschrift takes up issues that the honorand has made his own. An affectionate biographical sketch and list of publications are followed by four essays on the Gospels and Acts, and eleven on Paul's Letters (meaning the Pauline corpus), and five on assorted topics ranging from post-modernity (D. Hagner) to W. G. Kümmel (by O. Merk), through biblical ethics (B. Gerhardsson), textual criticism (J. K. Elliott), and Bible translation (M. Jonge). In Part II S. Byrskog on gospel genre and Loveday Alexander on the authority of scripture in Acts stand out, and R. Bauckham writes on the estate of Publius in Malta, finding the topographical detail in Acts plausible. In Part III both G. Fee and the editor shed genuinely new light on Colossians and N. T. |
