Summary: | This book is an ambitious, and very clearly written, attempt to give an account of a process the author refers to as Christian ‘conversion’ from the perspectives of practical theology, neuroscience, philosophy of mind, and moral theory. This is a substantial task, and it is therefore surprising that it is presented as a slim volume of five chapters. It soon becomes clear on reading the work that this has been achieved by selective and superficial treatment of much of the material. This is a shame, because the enterprise itself is worthy, and some helpful insights are presented along the way. |
