Description
Résumé:This volume is the fruit of a series of workshops on medieval Latin Trinitarian theology held in 1996, 2000, and 2004. The papers published here derive from the last of these workshops. The contributors take a time-span from the eleventh to the sixteenth century, thus covering a period in which Trinitarian questions were hotly debated as themes arising within the Boethian theologia and given a strong new interest by the schism of 1054, and moving into a period when they gave way, in point of general interest, to issues of another kind, mainly within what Hugh of St Victor described as the opus restaurationis. The essays on relatively little-known authors add greatly to the value of the collection.
