| Summary: | This volume on the majuscules (uncials) on parchment is the latest instalment in the ongoing progression towards the International Greek New Testament Project's (IGNTP) full apparatus to the Fourth Gospel. Twelve years ago a comparable volume on the papyri was published as New Testament Tools and Studies, 20. (That series has now been renamed to take into NTTS the long-running series Studies and Documents, although the sequence number of the former is retained). Behind the latest volume lies a tremendous effort collecting photographs, travelling to sites where the manuscripts are housed, collating, transcribing into electronic format, and assembling the apparatus, as I can well testify to, having been secretary to the British IGNTP committee during those preparatory years. |
