Description
Summary:This first of three volumes of commentary on Isaiah 1–27 replaces or, better, supplements the commentary covering the same chapters in the same series by George Buchanan Gray published in 1912. The distinguished International Critical Commentary series (ICC), launched in the late nineteenth century and never completed, has been overtaken by the new ICC, which brings to bear on the interpretation of the biblical books the great volume of textual, lexical, historical, and archaeological data made available during the last century or so.
