The case of Junia has often been cited in passing by feminist scholars and by those on both sides of the debates about the ordination of women. This book joins the discussion by providing a detailed and careful evaluation of some of the arguments about this contentious character., The book is split into two unequal parts. The first part presents a very brief introduction (17 pages in all) of textual criticism and variant readings, before moving onto the second part which, in a series of chapters of varying lengths, explores Junia and the debate about her in scholarship. |
