Description
Summary:Since the late 1950s and 1960s Black's New Testament Commentaries have faithfully served students, preachers, and lecturers wanting a succinct ‘mainstream’ commentary. But scholarship moves on. New evidence comes to light, new approaches are devised, and new theories propounded. Inevitably the time comes for volumes to be replaced. Andrew Lincoln's new commentary is designed to supplement, if not supersede, Sanders and Mastin's 1968 volume in the Black series. The format is similar to that of Morna Hooker (the series General Editor) on Mark: an Introduction, the Commentary proper with the author's own translation of the text (divided into sections), Select Bibliography, and Indexes. This format is helpful and makes it easy to find one's way round the work.
