Description
Summary:This Th.D. dissertation from the University of Lund makes a significant contribution to the current debate about the biblical canon, from both a historical and a theological/hermeneutical standpoint. The central thesis as defined by the author is this: ‘Integral to the life of the church, in particular the ecclesial practice of proclamation and prayer, the formation and continuous usage of the Christian biblical canon is an act of literary preservation and actualization of the church's apostolic normative tradition—“The Scriptures and the Lord”, by which the church is and remains church, appealing to a variety of textual, ritual and doctrinal materials’ (pp. 347–8).
