Summary:This is the fourth volume in the series Sources chrétiennes, and the second by Fr François Cassingena-Trevédy, OSB, devoted to works by the great fourth-century Syriac author Ephrem. Earlier volumes provided translations of the Commentary on the Diatessaron (no. 121, by Louis Leloir), the Hymns on Paradise (no. 137, by R. Lavenant), and the Hymns on the Nativity (no. 459, by the translator of the volume under review). A further volume, with the Hymns on Faith, is in active preparation., The Paschal Hymns consist of three groups of poems in E. Beck's edition in the Corpus Scriptorum Christianorum Orientalium (Scriptores Syri, 108–9): 21 de Azymis, nine de Crucifixione, and five de Resurrectione.
