Description
Summary:This is a fascinating set of essays. Dr D’Costa understands the collection in terms of ‘a Catholic vision’ and provides some valuable and unusual insights into St Thomas Aquinas and into recent documents from the Vatican. On the other hand, Rahner and Küng merit only two footnotes each and Tracy one, while Schillebeeckx and Haight (for example) are absent. Alasdair MacIntyre on the other hand looms large over these pages. Clearly there are different genres of Catholic theology. There are innumerable references to non-Catholic theologians. Immediately we encounter the complexity of the idea of a Catholic vision today.
