In 1981, she published a ground-breaking study of the Armenian baptism rite, which demonstrated that, so far from being a junk-store of other traditions’ cast-offs, the Armenian rite contained and cherished roots in the Syrian tradition—no real surprise, given their geographical proximity. Since then she has written a number of monographs, including studies on the Armenian credal tradition (2000) and the Sanctus (2002). | ||
