Description
Summary:This volume, dedicated as a Festschrift to Professor Kevin Cathcart on his 65th birthday, contains 25 essays which reflect the honorand's wide interests in the fields of biblical studies, Semitic languages, and the history of the Near East. As is customary in such volumes, a full bibliography of Cathcart's writings is provided. Departing from a recent trend by which contributions to Festschriften are restricted to themes selected by the editors, this collection is free from such rigorous constraints and the essays clearly reflect topics which the authors believe will interest Cathcart. That editorial decision is to be welcomed and is justified by its fruits: the volume contains an interesting and pleasing diet for his feast.
