Description
Summary:Peter Matheson has had a distinguished career as a teacher in Scotland, New Zealand, and Australia and as a writer on both the European Reformation and on twentieth-century church history in both Europe and New Zealand. His work is celebrated by former colleagues and students in this collection of essays edited by Ian Breward. The volume begins with biographical pieces, celebrating and analysing his contribution to the work of New College, Edinburgh, and at Dunedin and Melbourne, and to the life of the Presbyterian church in his native Scotland and his adopted homes. The substantial central section recalls Matheson's primary interest in the Reformation.
