Sumario:The Blackwell Bible Commentary Series promises to offer a genuinely new approach to the commentary genre in so far as each volume provides an interdisciplinary overview of the reception history of a specific biblical text. The scope of the commentary series is indeed wide-ranging; it covers patristic, rabbinic, and medieval exegesis, interpretations from the Renaissance and Protestant Reformations, the emergence of historical-critical approaches, and illustrates a range of modern and postmodern approaches. The commentary series draws on a diverse range of sources often not included in academic commentaries such as hymns, official church statements, sermons, and children's Bibles, and also attends to the interpretations of biblical narratives found in art, music, and film.
