Summary: | This volume continues a modern Hebrew translation of Philo's works, with an introduction to each treatise and brief annotations to the translated text. The Greek text is not reprinted, but otherwise the format recalls the series Les Oeuvres de Philon d’Alexandrie, edited by R. Arnaldez and others, to which Suzanne Daniel contributed the volume on De specialibus legibus i–ii (1975). Volume 3 of the Hebrew translation includes De specialibus legibus iii–iv, De virtutibus, and De praemiis et poenis; Suzanne Daniel-Nataf is responsible for all the introductions, translations and notes, save that Yohanan Cohen-Yashar joined with her in translating De praemiis, and Havah Schor translated De specialibus legibus ii. |
