William Loader takes pains here to offer very careful comparisons between Hebrew and Septuagintal traditions of texts that bear especially upon attitudes to issues in sexuality in Philo and in the New Testament. He stresses more than once that the aim of such comparisons ‘has not been to imagine the intentions of the translator(s), but to examine what they [the LXX texts] produced’ (p. 117).
