Summary: | Thistimely volume, co-ordinated by Prof. Robert K. Johnston of Duke University, is a new addition to the Cultural Exegesis series. The declared aim of this series is to engage meaningfully with culture from a theological standpoint. Film, perhaps the aspect of popular culture which acts today as the main source and vehicle of myth production and transmission, is the focus of this book. The volume is the outcome of two colloquia, sponsored by the Henry Luce Foundation, which brought together practitioners and representative scholars in the field of theology and film in 2004 and 2005. |
