Description
Summary:This article introdues the work of the French poet Edmond Jabès from the point of view of his authority for thelogical reflection. Jabès writers about writing, God, death, love and loss, the book, the Jew, the desert. Jabès shows these and other such words as the the deep words of life. These words are not themes in his work, but oases—points of orientation—with respect both to his poetic meaning and to the meaning of human existence, across the terrain of which his questions and resemblances wander.
