Summary: | Since the time of Karl Krumbacher (1859–1906), differing hypotheses have been suggested by various scholars on the date of composition (1388) of a poem entitled Ἀλέξανδϱος ὁ Βασιλεύς which is found on folios 16–142 contained in the Codex Marcianus 408 (Library of St Mark Venice). The Codex consists of 155 folios which contain 22 anonymous items most of which are poems written in the Political Metre (fifteen-syllabic). |
